“Why you fool, it’s the educated reader who CAN be gulled. All our difficulty comes with the others. When did you meet a workman who believes the papers? He takes it for granted that they’re all propaganda and skips the leading articles. He buys his paper for the football results and the little paragraphs about girls falling out of windows and corpses found in Mayfair flats. He is our problem. We have to recondition him. But the educated public, the people who read the high-brow weeklies, don’t need reconditioning. They’re all right already. They’ll believe anything.”
― C.S. Lewis, quote from That Hideous Strength
There is nothing more dangerous than an arrogant academic. Dr. Fauci and Bill Gates can be perceived by one side as evil monsters, experimenting on those beneath like organisms in a petri dish to be prodded and injected for the “higher good.” Or they can be perceived as benevolent gods who genuinely are looking out for our well-being.
So what if Bill Gates thinks it’s a good idea to dim the sun. Bill Gates Wants to Dim the Sun | What Is Solar Geoengineering? (popularmechanics.com)
So what if we should all be eating some kind of meat that isn’t meat. He’s buying up all the farmland because he knows better than the little farmers who’ve been on the land, breathing in the soil, looking to the sky for rain, praying to their god for grace.

Those who like to think of themselves as educated and progressive eagerly bow down to the Faucis and the Gates as the new gods, while complaining about the conspiracy theorists who refuse to follow the science. Meanwhile, real doctors in the field are silenced for going against the narrative. Perhaps one day the suppression of the truth about the benefits of hydroxychloroquine will go down as one of the most heinous crimes against humanity in history. Or maybe it will be so completely erased that no one will ever remember it even existed.

Who do you identify with? Because both sides look on the other as the ones who follow conspiracy theories. One must be right…or not?
Do you feel increasingly restricted in speaking your mind about political or religious beliefs? Or do you feel that those with dangerous “fringe” ideas need to be censored?
Or do you feel Biden is the father figure he’s made out to be and Trump was an evil so vile his voice, his face, everything about him should be erased from the earth.
In hindsight, do you think BLM was a wonderful movement that you were proud to be a part of (posting support on social media of course, not actually doing anything). Especially when there are now questions of where all that money raised has gone (big surprised, just look at the same thing happening with the #MeToo movement). Hmmm, Patrice Cullers just bought herself a fancy mansion https://realhardpolitics.com/2021/04/09/blm-founder-patrice-cullors-purchases-1-4-million-dollar-house-while-blm-chapters-are-stiffed/

When BLM and Antifa burst on the scene as household names, most of my friends jumped on the bandwagon in full support. I was skeptical and received backlash for saying so.
I’ve been reading Andy Ngo’s excellent book Unmasked. I’m glad there are still those intrepid journalists who fearlessly go into the thick of it and reports truthfully what they see, without a preconceived agenda. Of course, over time, it’s impossible to remain impartial. Especially when, as happened to Andy, he was beaten and hospitalized and has now had to move out of the country with his family due to death threats.
Professor Johnathan Turley credited Antifa with the current climate of fear on college campuses:
“I’ve been teaching for 30 years. I have never seen the level of fear and intimidation on campuses that we see today. Faculty are afraid to speak out about issues. We can’t have a dialogue about he important issues occurring today because there’s a fear that you might be accused of being reactionary or racist.”
This isn’t a new phenomenon. It’s a technique used for a very long time, back to the days of the Catholic Church, where they controlled all information. But then a little thing called the printing press was invented in1450 and suddenly everyone had access to information. A dangerous situation for the church. And so began the Inquisition. Anyone not agreeing with the State narrative was tortured and killed. Over and over it happens and with the coming of the internet, it is happening again. All information is accessible. But no government or controlling force wants this for the ordinary people. They want information to be controlled and that is what we see happening now. A crack down on free speech. A molding of truth and an erasure of any opposing view, no matter how much proof there is against the dominate narrative.
I can remember a few years ago on social media people would post inspiring quotes that were attributed to famous people, such as a quote being attributed to Nelson Mandela, shall we say. I would research it and find he never said such a thing. When I tried to point this out to the person who wrote the quote more often than not they didn’t seem to care. They would say, well, it’s the sort of thing he would say, it’s in the right spirit. And they wouldn’t remove the quote. This really bothered me but most people didn’t seem to see the problem. It was the start of a slippery slope. Relying on feelings rather than facts.
From there, twisted and entire phrases, even books, can give false information that is taken as facts, simply because it feels as if it should be so. Think the 1619 Project. No matter that it is false, even daring to state this obvious fact will get one labeled as racist. This constant flipping is a clever means to keep people–who already have been programmed to absorbs only sound-bites–unable to critically evaluate anything, thus accepting what they hear because it comes from those above them who they believe are watching out for their best interests, shielding them from the evils of the opposite side.
Truth does not matter. As Don Lemmon said with great emotion, “This is my truth.”
If certain words are repeated over and over they become truth. For example, half the country is convinced that Donald Trump is a racist. The other half is convinced he isn’t. I don’t know whether he is or not. I don’t know him personally. I don’t know whether Don Lemmon is a racist or not. I don’t know him personally either. I only know what they say. I only know that when Trump is featured on news stations such as CNN, I make sure to go to the original source and listen to the entire speech.
I’ve got news for you. There aren’t only white Christians who are racists. Last time I checked, whites didn’t run Egypt, for example. It’s got a lot of brown Muslim men in charge and the corruption and racism is much worse than anything I’ve seen in the United States. But I can’t really say that. I found out over the past few years that saying things like that will lose a writer any chance of every being published.
If you are told over and that Trump said “there’s a lot of fine people on both sides” and you never, ever hear the entire speech then you accept it as truth. And when it’s been pressed into your brain so many times, even if you finally do hear the entire speech where what he says isn’t racist at all, it doesn’t matter anymore. The brainwashing has been done.
What happened to truth that is separate from mine or yours?
As Ngo says:
“What unites this group of leftists is its opposition to so-called fascism, though importantly, what is defined as fascism is left wide open. This is intentional as it allows antifa to justify all manner of violence and extremism in the name of opposing “fascism.”
― Andy Ngo, Unmasked: Inside Antifa’s Radical Plan to Destroy Democracy
We’ve entered a shadow world where stating what you actually see is dangerous. Validating your feelings is okay–if it’s feelings for the right reasons. If not, then you need to be reprogrammed, you need to go to reeducation camps. And hearing this, no one says, umm, No!!! My liberals friends seem to think that its for a right wing person’s own good and for the good of society in general for them to be reprogrammed.
“The BLM-antifa narrative that police are murdering black and brown people in epidemic proportions needs to be thoroughly debunked. It is not supported by the evidence or data. This should be the job of the media, but it has been they who fan the flames of racial division through one-sided wall-to-wall coverage. The unending distraction from real issues that can otherwise be addressed through evidence-based policy making has us chasing shadows.”
― Andy Ngo, Unmasked: Inside Antifa’s Radical Plan to Destroy Democracy
Watching one part of a video, such as was circulated in the horrific death of George Floyd over and over (when the news outlet well knew there was a longer version that told the who story) is accepted. Nobody thinks to themselves, I’m going to reserve judgement until the have all the information. All the information doesn’t matter. How I feel about what I’m seeing in this moment, how it reinforces everything I’ve been told about what’s wrong and how that makes me feel more secure in my righteousness, is all that matters. No one wants to feel uncomfortable. Life is scary enough already. There’s that pandemic, after all.
One of my favorite books is C. S. Lewis’s That Hideous Strength. He knew it all back then:
“Isn’t it absolutely essential to keep a fierce Left and fierce Right, both on their toes and each terrified of the other? That’s how we get things done.”
― C.S. Lewis, quote from That Hideous Strength
Black against white, left against right, men against women. Isn’t it obvious? Why do we allow ourselves to be so manipulated time after time by those whose power feeds off of our fear and vulnerability. Isn’t it clear how they use media to keep our focus on fighting amongst ourselves?
What are your thoughts? Does it matter anyway? Do you think it will all just fade away and nothing will ever change one way or the other?
