What a perfect universe this is. What a perfect balance of foulness and beauty. Violence and peace. Chaos and harmony. Emotion and intellect.

Who are the gods? Whose hand is above them all? Not even I know that. We know nothing, really. Except that emotions are what give us meaning. And what makes us weak.

Once upon a time, I fell in love with a man from another world and I bore a child in pain. That child was taken from me. I gave up the pain and the pleasure of my own life to take on the pains and pleasures of Oran.

I gave up my child. Why should I think I could get her back again?

I am, more than anything, a Traveler, always seeking new ways to learn and grow. Especially in these challenging times, I am a passionate advocate of free speech. The practice of martial arts is a way of life for me. I am the co-founder of InsideOUT Writers, a creative writing program for incarcerated youth, and the founder of the MY WORLD PROJECT, connecting youth in remote areas through art and writing. I'm happiest living out of a suitcase and seeing where the next step in my journey will take me. For the past three years that has meant living in Luxor, Egypt, where I started the first boxing club for girls on the West Bank. I'm the author of numerous children's books and essays, as well as the Urban Fantasy series NIGHT ANGELS CHRONICLES. This year sees publication of my sci-fi/dark fantasy work, FIREFLY LANE, with Terror House Press. At the moment, I'm riding out this pandemic in Phoenix, but who can say where tomorrow will take me.
