  1. Karen~ Your work is incredible. What a beautiful spirit you have. I am so happy to have found this site and plan to follow you…with my teenage daughter. This work is right up her alley. I came across your website accidentally, so to speak. I have been hoping to connect with you, whether through email or phone contact. I spoke with your Mother in 2011 over the phone. Her book East Wind was based on my neighbor, Maria. I was doing some historical research on Maria and the NVKD. Your mother and I had very lovely conversations. But for some reason the folks at the Berean Call, interceded and prevented me from having further contact with her. I know both of your parents have passed away since. My condolences to you… After reading your bio, I felt more comfortable reaching out to you. I would like to share an interesting story with you about those conversations. Hope we are able to connect. I am, more than anything, a Traveler, always seeking new ways to learn and grow. Especially in these challenging times, I am a passionate advocate of free speech. The practice of martial arts is a way of life for me. I am the co-founder of InsideOUT Writers, a creative writing program for incarcerated youth, and the founder of the MY WORLD PROJECT, connecting youth in remote areas through art and writing. I'm happiest living out of a suitcase and seeing where the next step in my journey will take me. For the past three years that has meant living in Luxor, Egypt, where I started the first boxing club for girls on the West Bank. I'm the author of numerous children's books and essays, as well as the Urban Fantasy series NIGHT ANGELS CHRONICLES. This year sees publication of my sci-fi/dark fantasy work, FIREFLY LANE, with Terror House Press. At the moment, I'm riding out this pandemic in Phoenix, but who can say where tomorrow will take me.
