“What does it profit a man if he gain the whole world but lose his own soul.” Do you think we have a soul and what is it? I ask this because someone I love who became lost to the demon of drugs, cried out, when he was ready to get clean, that he couldn’t bear it any longer because he had a soul and the drugs were stealing it from him.

The practice of martial arts is a way of life for me. I am the co-founder of InsideOUT Writers, a creative writing program for incarcerated youth, and the founder of the MY WORLD PROJECT, connecting youth in remote areas through art and writing. I'm happiest living out of a suitcase and seeing where the next step in my journey will take me. For the past three years that has meant living in Luxor, Egypt, where I started the first boxing club for girls on the West Bank. I'm the author of numerous children's books and essays, as well as the Urban Fantasy series NIGHT ANGELS CHRONICLES. This year sees publication of my sci-fi/dark fantasy work, FIREFLY LANE, with Terror House Press. At the moment, I'm riding out this pandemic in Phoenix, but who can say where tomorrow will take me.
